We stock small all the way through to extra large recessed lights suitable for large areas and smaller venues. Amongst our extensived collection of recessed lights we boast round and square recessed lights as well as recessed lights which can be plastered in if you wish. We stock dimmable led recessed spotlights which can be fixed or tilted, if you would like them to be angled at a photo or cupboard for example, or perhaps you have a pitched roof. If you have limited space or a small void we offer a range of downlights with small cans for easily installation. Recessed lights are used in all areas of a property including, hallways, kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, often in groups, as they generally provide a strong illumination in a small area, hence why you install a quantity. As well as the standard recessed lights we also stock a range of luxurious crystal recessed lights, perfect for adding a diiferent dimension to your interior.

How to fit a recessed light?

We always recommend sourcing a qualified electrician when installing any lighting. When installing recessed lights, you would need to cut holes to the size recommended of the downlight you have selected. Secondly ensure the power is off. You would then loop the wire between each downlight you want on the circuit. Once you have wired the downlights you pull the spring clips back and push the lights into the ceiling and then let the clips hold the downlight tight to the ceiling, ensuring the clips don't trap your fingers as this can hurt. Once you are satisfied the lights are wired correctly turn on the power and your lights should be lit.

What sized recessed light do i need?

As there name suggests, recessed lights are sunk into the ceiling and generally only show a very minimal trim below the ceiling height or the whole light can be recessed into the ceiling in some situations. Whether you are installing recessed lights onto a new ceiling or perhaps you are replacing old ones, the recessed lights will have a cut out hole, which is the hole size recommended to cut. The trim of the light will be larger than the hole size, this stops the light falling through the ceiling. If you have existing large downlights with large holes you are looking to update, we stock conversion kits and modern options to bring your recessed lights up to date.

How many recessed lights do i need?

Each property can vary due to size of room, what colour the walls are painted for example, but generally the ceiling height plays a big part. The higher lights are installed the further the light has to travel downwards. For help choosing how many recessed lights you need, we advise contacting our sales team. The brightness of the light or lumen output can vary the quantity required and the room they are installed in, but as a rule of thumb we recommend installing them 4ft apart on a standard 2.4m ceiling.

Recessed lights are utilised in many areas of a property and often provide the main light source, however they often compliment kitchen island lights. As well as recessed spotlights we also stock a selection of surface mounted ceiling spotlights and wall spotlights.
