Fence Lights

Fence lights are available in mains powered options and in solar powered styles. Solar powered fence lights don't require any wiring and are a very easy, reasonably cost effective way of lighting a fence and its surroundings. Mains powered fence lighting will require an electrician to run wires to the lights. 240v powered fence lights offer a more long term solution but will be initially more expensive. When lighting a fence or it's surroundings wall lights are generally utilised, but we also offer festoon sets which can prove very effective.

When lighting a garden or exterior living area, adding lights to a fence offers a decorative look often providing an ambient light. More powerful, high lumen lights can be added if you are attempting to light a path or garden area for example, but more often than not, if the lights are installed in groups a more cosy, relaxing light is requested. It is important when installing fence lights to ensure they are waterproof and weather resistant.

Common queries about fence lights.

What lights are used on a fence?

Generally speaking wall lights or festoon lights, sometimes known as string lights are installed on fences.

Do you have to ask your neighbour if you are installing fence lights?

If a fence panel belongs to your neighbour and it involves screwing the light to the fence panels, we would advise you to confirm with your neighbour that they are happy with you doing this.

How do i power fence lights?

As mentioned previously, if you want to put mains powered outdoor lights on your fence, you would need to contact an electrician to run wires to the relevant areas. Alternatively if you opt for solar lights, this is easily done and can often be installed by yourself.
